Sound Effects

Lessons that sound alive.

どのように教えていますか?

Younger learners drift when nothing marks the moments that matter. Sound Effects, in development, will let you play a chime, applause or a timer bell for everyone in the Space, with you in control of the volume.

Your young student’s attention drifts, and a right answer passes without a cheer. Soon you’ll play applause or a chime on cue, with the volume in your hands.

Marking a transition for twenty students on video is hard. Soon you’ll play a chime to start an activity or a bell when time is up, for everyone at once.

The problem

Effort that goes unnoticed

Younger learners respond to sound, but online lessons are quiet. Wins pass unmarked, and transitions blur.

一般的な方法

Tutors clap on camera or play sounds from another app through screen share.

How Pencil Spaces solves it

Younger learners respond to sound: a round of applause for a right answer, a chime to start an activity, a bell when time is up. Sound Effects will let tutors play these for everyone in the Space, with the tutor in control of the volume and able to mute them all. They pair with Celebrations and with timers. In development.

変更点

More energy and attention in live lessons, especially with young learners.

What we’re building

  • Applause, chimes and more, on cue
  • A bell when a timer runs out
  • Tutor controls the volume, or mutes all
  • Pairs with celebrations for every win

What it looks like

実際には

A student gets a hard one right, and his tutor plays a round of applause. Later a timer runs out with a bell, and the tutor mutes all sounds for quiet practice.
