A fresh Space every month
Zapier’s own template: create Spaces in Pencil Spaces every month with Schedule by Zapier.
Sign-up to classroom
When a student fills in your intake form, create their Space with them as the participant.
Paid, then ready
When a package is paid for, create the Space for the first lesson.

You need a Zapier account and a Pencil Spaces account with API access.
Generate your API key.
An Institution Admin opens Settings › API & Integrations in Pencil Spaces and clicks Generate API Key. Copy it somewhere safe; it’s shown only once.
Connect Pencil Spaces in Zapier.
In a Zap, add the Pencil Spaces app and sign in with your API key and the email on your Pencil Spaces account.
Add Create Space.
Choose the Create Space action, map the fields from your trigger, and turn on your Zap.

What can the Zapier integration do?
It has one action, Create Space. Pencil Spaces doesn’t offer Zapier triggers yet; for more, use the Pencil Spaces API.
Do I need to write code?
No. You build the Zap in Zapier and map fields from earlier steps.
Which Pencil Spaces plans include API access?
API access comes with our usage-based and Enterprise plans. Talk to our team about the right fit, including API access during a free trial.
Does my institution use Sites?
If your institution has Sites turned on, talk to our team before you set up a Zap, since new Spaces need to belong to a site.
Who can create the API key?
Institution Admins, in Settings › API & Integrations. The key is shown only once.
