The problem

Work gets lost on a big board

Large boards are great for space but easy to get lost in. Teachers can’t see where students are working, and students lose track of the whole picture.

一般的な方法

Teachers zoom out until nothing is readable, or ask everyone where they are and wait for answers.

How Pencil Spaces solves it

The mini map, in development: a bird’s-eye view of the whole board. A rectangle marks what is on screen, colored dots show where the teacher and each student are, and a click on the map jumps to a student’s work.

変更点

Everyone sees where everything is, and nobody loses track of work spread across a large board.

What it looks like

実際には

A science group is zoomed in on one part of a much larger board. The mini map shows the whole board, a rectangle marks what’s on screen and dots show where each student is.

In a 1:1 lesson

Your student is drawing far off to the right. You see her dot on the mini map and click to jump to her work.

In a group class

You see five dots clustered in one area of the mini map and one alone far away. You click to check on the student on their own.

In a virtual training

Four teams work in four corners of the board. You click each team’s area on the mini map to review their progress.

In your classroom

Students spread out across a large timeline. From the display, you click a student’s dot to show their section to the class.

In the training room

You click each table’s area on the mini map to bring their work up on the big screen during the debrief.

At home

Your daughter drifts to the edge of her board. She clicks the center of the mini map and she’s back.
